Shade was made King of Mavros at the age of twelve when his father died. By the age of sixteen, his people had already begun to hate him simply for the way he looked, the way he behaved, and the assumptions that came with his appearance. At the age of eighteen, he was exiled; torn from his throne and sent to Exoria indefinitely. All the luxury and excess Shade had grown up enjoying had been taken away from him. He knew he'd made mistakes as a ruler, but the people exiled him ultimately because of his romantic preferences.
